I can not say when was the first time I used Scopes to shoot.  I had always used iron sights for aiming but then I found that rifle scopes work much better for long distance shots.  I still like to use the iron sights from time to time.  I enjoy the challenge. But on to riflescopes.  They present their own kind of challenge  When you set a target long distance and try to knock the center out.  That is a challagne.  When you use a rifle scope to hit the bulls eye on a paper target that you are lucky to hit at all with iron sights.
